Cant find where filezilla downloaded a file

After installing the filezilla on your pc, download the file of ftp or sftp setting from your cpanel which is in the ftp account directory. When it download on your pc, open filezilla click on file menu go to import setting and upload the file there.

I know the file is there because the FTP-account holds the files for a website (if I upload a picture I can download an view it via HTTP). I've tried to upload a file which doesn't already exist in the directory (not overwriting) I couldn't see the file when it was uploaded.
