Why do big file downloads randomly stop chrome






















Answer (1 of 3): Generally speaking, browsers are not specialized for Downloading Large files/content. That's why we have IDM, FDM and torrent software. That being said, I personally haven't faced any issues with Chrome. I'm sure you know this, but most browsers download the file into a tempora. Whenever I download an "unsafe" file, I simply press 'Keep Dangerous File'. It works, but 3 seconds later, it gets deleted. I do not know if this is on Windows' end or Google Chrome's end. Google Chrome won't download files.. the download starts of normally.. it downloads a few megabytes and then just drops to 0 B/s.. i ended up downloading the file though my smartphone over Wifi soI don't think the new router is the problem or maybe it could be a wired-only issue.
