Chromebook all of my downloaded files are gone

This isn't a Chrome feature and happens when the file type association for some (or all) of your files are mistakenly set to open with Chrome (instead of docs opening with Word, website with Chrome etc). To resolve this, restore the default file associations. My mother who uses my Chromebook told me her files (pictures, etc) were all gone. They were files stored on the CB, not on google photos or google drive. Is there a way to recover them on ChromeOS, like how there are recovery programs for Windows? Would it be possible to remove the drive and connect it to a Windows device to perform the recovery?  · Hello! I'm not tech savvy. My chrome book's "a" key isn't working, so I changed my password to be without the letter a. I proceeded, not realizing the significance of the warning. Now my files are all GONE. Hello, I tried this, and downloaded a free adobe to my computer. chose it as my default for pdf downloads on chrome. unforturnately it didn't work, and document appears as "invalid document" when i try to save it. so I switched back to save as chrome html, and now I can't save anything! not sure what went wrong. but now i'm worse off. Open Google, type: chrome://downloads and hit Enter. Step 2. Scroll down the page and find deleted or removed files, data, document in the Downloads list. Step 3. Select the grayed out info-box which is marked as Deleted and click to re-download again. # 3.
