Pdf will not open in chrome only download

 · @krishnaa I ran into this same issue when I switched to Windows But it was only with the Chrome browser and not Firefox. I would save a pdf from Chrome and it would save it with bltadwin.ru extension and look like it was a pdf but when attempting to open the file, Adobe program would state the file was in the incorrect format or the file was corrupt.  · When I try to open a web PDF file, I just get a blank/black screen. "Automatic download" is turned off already, so that is not the problem. This just started happening today for no apparent reason. If I go to another browser, the pdf file will open. If I go to incognito, it will open. Sometimes if I use Acrobat it will open.  · Turn off the toggle switch next to Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome. Restart your browser. Now when you visit a PDF site, it should open the file in Chrome instead of bltadwin.rus:

After downloading, you'll click the up arrow / caret (^) next to the download on the status bar, and choose "Always open files of this type". This will cause Chrome to pass the download over to the associated application. Download the PDF and open it in Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC. Right-click (Windows) or control-click (Mac OS) the link to the PDF file. Make sure Adobe Acrobat Document is selected for the file type, and save the file. If you don't see a Save As dialog box, your browser may have downloaded the file automatically, possibly in a separate.
